Responsibilities
GridApp Systems is looking for a junior candidate with basic systems knowledge who wants to grow his/her skill set and get exposure to different operating systems, clustering technology and enterprise databases. It is important that the candidate can quickly learn new technologies and meet challenges head-on.
The successful candidate will get exposure to a variety of enterprise software including Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Windows Server, Veritas clustering, Windows clusters, Oracle Databases and Clusters, Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server among others.
The position will be part of the Product Quality and Support team. As a member of the team the position will be responsible for developing and executing plans and scripts to test/diagnose GridApp software products. All team members are expected to provide constant feedback and help optimize internal processes and products..
Qualifications
Some hands-on experience in systems administration:
Working knowledge of Windows and UNIX/Linux including the shell and common tools (tar, gzip, etc.)
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
A thirst to learn and improve your skills and knowledge
BS or equivalent work experience.
Desired skills:
Experience with bug tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla or ClearQuest
Knowledge of Perl scripting, Shell scripting, PHP, and XML
Knowledge of Oracle 10g, 11i, DB2, Sybase, SQL Server , MySQL, Postgress
Experience with source control systems like Perforce and SVN
