DavidBartonGym (DBG) is a premiere boutique gym company operating stylish, upscale health clubs in New York City, Miami, Chicago and Seattle. DBG is recognized for providing industry-leading personal training and a superior level of service. DBG is embarking on an exciting national expansion and is seeking professionals with significant business and management experience to fill the General Manager role at certain of our locations (New York, Miami, Chicago and Seattle).
Our General Managers are the linchpins to our multi-functional club management teams and are therefore the key to our organizational success. An ideal General Manager is a big-picture thinker who understands business drivers and can creatively develop and nurture revenue sources while maintaining the cost-consciousness and discipline required of a business owner. Experience operating fitness/health clubs is absolutely not a necessity.
Your success as a DBG General Manager will rely on your ability to foster a culturally diverse, creative and fun atmosphere, while maintaining an efficient and profitable operation and a well-polished facility. Also key will be your ability to train and develop other DBG managers and staff, such that they help to achieve member satisfaction, brand standard execution and superior financial and operational performance.
As a General Manager managing across functional areas (sales, physical training, reception, scheduling, retail, maintenance, etc.), you will be expected to monitor and manage your team’s performance, both individually and collectively, and to develop the team through effective communication and collaboration. The daily routine will necessitate your ability to develop solutions to immediate goals and issues; however, the ideal GM will always maintain perspective of the club’s monthly and annual objectives and will keep others directionally focused on these larger goals.
