STABLE ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT
User Services Consultant
We are a small IT office and we do a little bit of everything. A team of 3 looking to expand to 4 that supports 350 users. This a full hands on position. We do everything from build computers to building servers. We are looking for someone with varied experience who is up for challenging themselves every day.
Job Description:
The User Services Consultant, under the direction of the User Services Coordinator will be required to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems; provide technical support for users; assist in submission and tracking of IP and telecom requests; assist in management, maintenance, and enhancement of Pathology systems; perform backup procedures; give general direction and assistance to other technicians; order equipment and maintain supply inventory. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned. Weekend hours may occasionally be necessary.
Qualification:
Bachelor`s degree, or the equivalent in training, education, and/or experience, plus a minimum of at least two (2) years of related computer experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Expertise with Windows operating systems and networking (including TCP/IP), and a firm grasp of Windows workstation and server administration and management is required. Excellent customer service and communication, both oral and written, skills are required. Knowledge of maintaining and working with incident management systems is required. The ability to work independently on multiple complex tasks is required.
Preferred Abilities:
Experience with UNIX (preferably FreeBSD) systems is strongly preferred. Experience with CoPath+ software and medical records concepts, as well as Columbia University and/or CUMC systems is preferred.
