Title: System Administrator
Responsibilities:
• Administration and maintenance of an environment consisting of various clustered servers, various routers, T1 & DS3 communication lines, Storage Area Network (SAN) environment, Network attached backup tape drive, communication facilities to/from market data providers, and many Windows-based PCs.
• Configuration of firewalls and other production equipment
• Scripting, automation and troubleshooting of processes and systems
• Design, configure and report on server and systems monitoring, backups, and utilization
• Scripting, automation, and troubleshooting
Job Description:
• Maintain & troubleshoot any issue that might arise in the IT area
• Schedule necessary tape backup jobs for archiving purposes
• Liaise with outside vendors when and if necessary.
• Willingness & interest in learning some basic aspect of company’s business and offer help whenever needed.
• Design/develop some basic scripting tools for administrative purposes.
• Maintenance, formatting/re-formatting & clean up of historical market data stored in various forms on various media.
Experience:
• Experience managing Microsoft technologies
• Windows Server 2003 Standard/Enterprise
• MS Exchange Server 2007
• Symantec Backup Exec
• Blackberry Enterprise Server
• CSCO routers(admin, configuration)
• MS Windows XP Operating System (OS) and its tools
• Good knowledge of Red Hat Linux
• Familiarity with some high level programming/scripting language
Education:
• Undergraduate degree in, preferably, a computer-related field of study and/or equivalent degree from an accredited technical school.
Must be eligible to work in the USA (No H1 Visa Sponsorship)
Compensation: $70K-$80K depending upon experience + bonus
