The announcement text:
Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC), one of the nation`s top ranked clinical and medical research centers, is seeking a team player with the credentials to provide computer hardware and software support to staff and faculty.



This position will split time between our Upper East Side Manhattan campus and our midtown Call Center. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of both the Windows & MAC OS X platforms, will be able to troubleshoot computer hardware, and be familiar with popular applications suites, e.g., Office, etc.



DUTIES WILL INVOLVE:



* Provide technical support, execute service requests, and answer general "how to" questions in a call center environment and via desktop support.



* Connect departmental tagged workstations to college network. Install networking peripherals in physical network closets to ensure full connectivity.

* Log all activities in call ticket database. Document and update records of all work done in database.

* Respond to and fulfill users inquiries via e-mail in a timely fashion; Route and direct inquiries to appropriate groups within the department.

* Manage and participate in sponsor-led special departmental technical projects.

* Work under the direct management and supervision of the Service Desk Manager and Desktop Support Manager.

* Develop/document issues, procedures and general "how to" into a knowledge base.

* Performs other job-related duties as required.





MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



* Bachelor`s Degree required

* At least two years of professional experience in a computer support position required.

* Experience with a wide variety of PC and Macintosh hardware and software required.

* Ability to demonstrate reliability in attendance, project completion, and organization through consistent performance and attendance.

* Strong problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.





CONSIDERED A PLUS:



* Experience in a call center environment.

* Ability to automate and script on Windows and/or MAC OS X platforms.

* SAP application support experience.

* Professional Certifications: ITIL, Customer Service Training, A+, Microsoft, or Apple.

* Experience developing technical documents and content for knowledge bases.
