My confidential client is a well established high-end retailer of contemporary jewelry and has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Design Manager in Manhattan.
This position is a key member of the Design Team that participates both creatively and logistically in the execution of the design direction for women’s jewelry.
Objectives
Develops design concepts from renderings through layout, waxes to design sign-off.
Traffics collections and specific designs through creation of job bags and manages process through design sign-off at direction of Design Director.
Contributes creative design ideas to the design and design planning process.
Assists in preparations for all sales, design and stylist presentations.
Participates in daily status meeting conducted by Design Director.
Partners with Stone, Engineering and Purchasing Department to source and order materials needed for design process.
Compiles comprehensive recap of design meeting notes for Design Director.
Contributes to “Competitive Trend Library.”
Participates in Tuesday night design.
Relationships
Department Structure: Reports to Director of Design.
Internal Relationships: manages Design Assistants. Interacts with Illustrators, Product Engineering, Model Shop and Stone Departments.
Qualifications
Prefer proficiency in Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of Rhino.
Highly organized and self motivated.
Knowledge of fine jewelry design and manufacturing.
Creative aesthetic in keeping with that of a high-end contemporary brand.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
