New High-End Contemporary Lighting company seeks Sales Director. Roll & Hill, LLC, a new lighting company founded by designer Jason Miller, is seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to lead in the development of a national and international sales network.
The ideal sales director will be able to manage a broad range of markets simultaneously, from the trade market in Sydney to the retail market in San Francisco. S/he will not only be able to process orders, but be able to generate and implement overall sales strategies.
The essential qualities:
—At least 5 years of experience in sales. Experience in wholesale and trade sales are preferable but not essential.
—Interest in contemporary design and knowledge of the business of contemporary design. People with experience in lighting will be given preference.
—The ability to research markets and the ability to make contacts with new retailers or trade showrooms.
—Ability to manage a budget and staff.
—Experience with the set up of an internal sales infrastructure, from the processing of orders to issuing of invoices.
—Experience with trade shows.
—MOST IMPORTANTLY: The ability to work with a start-up, and the understanding as to why that is different than just a normal sales job.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
