Development Engineer (Electronics)
The Company is a small midland based company of electronic and software design engineers,
designing and producing highly specialised electonic test quipment for use in simulation
testing. As the Company is small the employee will be involved in most aspects of the
Company?s business to varying degrees.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The candidate will ..
?Learn and maintain good working knowledge of Company products
?Produce or assist in production of development specifications in conjunction with
customers requirements
?Design and Develop embedded electronics circuits based on high end microcontrollers,
such as MPC565 and DSP processors
?Organize PCB layouts by using third party resources and manufacturers
?Work with schematics*PCBs and Bill-Of-Materials using appropriate software
?Provide some maintenance for existing circuit designs
?Debug designs both existing and new products
?Provide design services at a customers site from time to time
?Contribute to producing high quality documentation for new products being
developed
?Work with Manufacturer to ensure working drawings are maintained and adhered to.
?Work with Manufacturer to ensure components are available in time to meet to
delivery dates
The candidate may also be required to..
?Provide sales support, application engineering
?Assist with or produce quotations
?Assist MD*TD with and later provide Training, Sales demonstrations
?Attend shows where necessary
REQUIREMENTS
?Good knowledge of automotive electronic requirements essential
?Science*Engineering Graduate with > 4 years industrial experience or equivalent
All of the following would be advantageous
?Good knowledge of industrial electronic requirements
?Knowledge of automotive electronics legislation
?Good knowledge of CAN and other automotive protocols
?Experience of the full design, test and validation process through to production
?Good General technical knowledge, very comfortable with PC apps such as office,
Drawing packages, Databases (Access, ACT), internet, networks
?Presentable, enthusiastic
?Some knowledge of Matlab*Simulink
?Knowledge of VB an advantage
?Knowledge of the design and development sector of the automotive market
?Automotive Engineering Background
