My client is a global market leader in the design and of complete automation systems with over a decade of application experience in a new project design and emergency breakdown support to a wide of industries. The principal activity as a systems integrator is offered companies a complete range of factory automation solutions incorporating AC & DC variable speed drives, servo controllers, PLC’s, communication and monitoring tools, advanced supervisory and information systems plus a full package of after sales services.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing a reactive diagnostics and repair service and supporting service contracts for PLC’s and Drive Systems on customers sites in the UK and overseas on a 24 hour * 7 day per week basis.
It is essential that candidates possess:
• Technical expertise, a background in fault finding and repairing PLC & Drive Systems
• Experience of ‘hands-on’ field service
• Experience of repairing control systems for heavy industrial process or materials handling,
preferably within the Steel or Aluminium industries
• Excellent interpersonal*communication skills
• The ability to understand Customer problems to provide effective solutions
Ideally candidates will possess:
• In-depth knowledge of Siemens S5 & S7 and Allen Bradley SLC500 & ControlLogix PLC’s
• In-depth knowledge of AC & DC Drives (Variable Speed, Inverters, Servo’s, Converter) i.e.
Siemens, ABB & Eurotherm
• Experience of repairing rotating machinery, rolling mill, slitting lines, converting systems etc
• Steel & or Aluminium industry background
