System Developer Unix*Windows - Oxfordshire - £20-£32k p.a. + bonus*benefits
Experienced System Developer with an in-depth understanding of Unix*Linux systems, Windows systems, network topologies, TCP*IP and web protocols is required for my Oxfordshire client. The successful candidate, in addition to the skills listed above, will have a good knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell and Perl; have skills in relational databases (PostgreSQL), SQL, HTML and CGI; and familiarity with SOAP, DBI, C*C++, PHP, Python, and Microsoft SQL Server would be beneficial. Good written communication skills are required as you must be able to prepare written material that is well-structured, understandable and pertinent.
This role involves specifying, developing and documenting new systems for the client in Windows and Unix and*or Linux environments. This will range from taking an active role in planning future developments to administering new and current systems. It also involves developing integrated systems, building and installing applications on Unix*Linux and Windows systems, and developing automated processing environments using appropriate technologies.
