An excellent opportunity exists for a qualified accountant to join a diverse international organisation. This 6 month contract opportunity (with possible extensions), reporting straight to Board level, involves not only the responsibility of ensuring this organisation`s legal and regulatory position is maintained, but also the review and update of accounting policies and procedures. Further to this, the position entails assuming line management responsibility for the accounts payable department and staff payroll, both of which will present excellent opportunities to further develop some basic man-management skills which you will already have. This could be a real opportunity to make a transition from potentially a practice environment into the commercial world, or indeed progress from a newly qualified position in commerce to more of a line management role, whilst retaining some of the comfort factor of a technical background, which you will need to have. In addition to this good technical background, experience within the charitable sector would be an advantage, as will some exposure to overseas financial affairs (eg tax and regulatory bodies). Applicants must be a qualifed member of a registered chartered accounting body.
